Position: Senior Managing Director
Michelle is a senior leader with a reputation for improving operational effectiveness and market share. During her career, she has diagnosed and solved problems for both Fortune 10 and entrepreneurial companies and across products and services ranging from lubricants to clinical trial services. She has managed enterprise level organizations, as well as, cross functional teams. Her functional expertise includes operations, business development, supply chain, and engineering. Michelle’s leadership, transferable skills, and passion for producing results are what make her a valuable business executive.
Michelle is a Managing Director for the Moran Group where she improves operational management and business development strategies for underperforming companies. Her ability to elevate performance and lead change began during a 16 year career with Chevron. As a Maintenance Section Supervisor she championed a reliability program that reduced plant downtime by 20%. As the first global Supply Planning Manager for a $1B division within Chevron, her global team increased profit after tax by $2M by optimizing production planning and supply routes. As a Global Business Management Specialist, she improved product line margins by selecting the most cost effective components that delivered the highest level of performance. While serving in this position she supported an $80M ExxonMobil client account and led a multifunctional team though two product commercializations.
Able to transfer her skills into the life science area, she served as Director of Business Development for two life science companies. At Identigene, a pioneer in the field of human DNA identification, she developed key business management processes such as forecasting and accounts receivable collections and built the forensic DNA identification business segment. These efforts resulted in a successful acquisition of the company after which she was named Executive Director with oversight of 40 FTEs and full P&L responsibility. At Medical Metrics, an imaging core lab for medical device clinical trials, she led the implementation of a CRM system and developed a formal proposal management process. She successfully expanded the client base from predominately spinal device companies to the broader orthopedic market which resulted in contracts with nine of the top ten global orthopedic device manufacturers including Johnson & Johnson and Zimmer.
She is a results oriented leader that enjoys the process of collaboration, the opportunity to learn from others, and the privilege of developing employees.Michelle is a graduate of the MBA program at the Rice University, Jones School of Management. She has B.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering and Biology from the University of Alabama.
